Announcing The Evolving Show
Life is complicated. Each of us has to master life. As we contend with it, the big world bombards us with climate change, environmental destruction, and ethical dilemmas. Recently, we were trapped by a pandemic. Now, our economy scares us in the grocery store and at the pump while the war in Ukraine raises a red flag of potential nuclear disaster.
Try to go about life as “usual”! Make long-term plans. Gamble on success, love, and happiness. All the while being told that YOU contribute to the world’s problems! It’s your fault that oceans are contaminated with plastic, it’s your fault that we’re drowning in trash, it’s your fault that there is global warming, you are the reason why animals are treated inhumanely while being raised and killed for food. And these – of course – are just a few highlights.
The bottom line is “the sky Is falling” and we’re going down. And that’s not according to Chicken Little but science.
Life ain’t easy; it gives ya a headache and sends many into depression.
But that’s not the only way to look at life. There is a different way!
We still have a fighting chance. Plenty can still be saved. However, nothing will change unless we change. And change we can. It isn’t hard to make changes we believe in. (It’s a great deal harder to cope with disasters and shortages!) Our ancestors created the Industrial Revolution. Are WE incapable of developing a civilization based on sustainability? Why not?
There is power in a well-informed individual, there is power in choices we make, there is power in conservation, and there is power in science and technology PROVIDED we support and follow it. (Pessimism is easy in that it requires no effort. Optimism is earned.)
My name is Sturm Enrich. I’m an author, self-empowerment expert, journalist by profession, and survivor by experience. Just in case you didn’t notice, I have a few strikes against me. (Worse, I’m not an engineer so count on the occasional hiccup!) But I have something to offer that many of those sailing smoothly don’t. As the name of the show suggests, I too, am evolving. The substance is and will remain here. The form – narration included – will get better with time.
